AI Researcher Luke Metz Leaves OpenAI for Meta Superintelligence Labs, Will Report to Alexandr Wang

Axios reports that AI researcher Luke Metz — who had returned to OpenAI from Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Lab in January — is now joining Meta's Superintelligence Labs and will report to chief AI officer Alexandr Wang. Metz co-developed DCGAN and contributed to OpenAI's o1 system card. The move extends Meta's ongoing raid on OpenAI post-training talent and marks a second departure from the OpenAI team Fidji Simo assembled around Barret Zoph earlier this year.
