Generalist AI Adds $200M 8VC-Led Round Just Two Months After $400M June Raise at $2B

Robotics foundation-model startup Generalist has raised roughly $200M in a new round led by 8VC, Axios reports, coming barely 11 weeks after its $400M Series B closed at a $2B valuation in June. The San Mateo lab, founded by ex-DeepMind researcher Pete Florence, released its GEN-1 physical-task model in April and is racing General Intuition and Physical Intelligence in the world-model / VLA space.
