Spotify said it removed more than 500,000 streams of Malcolm Todd's 'Earrings' after the song's 70% overnight surge to #1 on the US chart was traced to bot-generated listens. The artificial streams had already settled a Kalshi prediction market on the most-streamed US Spotify song of June that had drawn $3M in wagers; the trader who flagged the anomaly, Caleb Davies, called the pattern an 11.24-sigma event. Spotify has demanded Kalshi and Polymarket stop using its logo and denied any partnership; Kalshi says it is investigating.
