Despite my usual dislike of reactive unnecessary new law, i think there’s a strong case for criminalising deliberate removal of anti-surveillance features in consumer goods. Easily done too by a slight tweak of s 3A Computer Misuse Act 1990 www.theguardian.com/technology/n...

I watched a netflix show last night where the hugging face emoji was a plot point..I'm glad to finally be able to be GenX enough to admit I've never been quite sure of it either.. (Fyi Vladimir. VG fluff for senior female academics but I actually really enjoyed it - tho as usual end sucks).
