Please tell me again how you using all our data, books, etc to train your models is fine, but someone else using the output of your models to train theirs is a heinous crime

- Jalil Richardson, a North Carolina man, spent over 50 days in a Jacksonville jail after an 85% AI facial recognition match.
- Prosecutors dropped the case once his attorney produced timesheets showing Richardson was at work hundreds of miles away in North Carolina.
- EFF's Adam Schwartz called it the 14th documented wrongful facial-recognition arrest, with the majority of victims people of color.
Indeed, that's why we've written a whole book on the political economy of AI ;)

I don't think you can do the whole "stock market and real economy inversely correlated because cheap money produces asset inflation" game forever, and I suspect that when this shit goes bust (with great AI assistance), they won't have any idea what to do
