Perplexity launched Portable Computer, a local agent platform that runs entirely on user hardware with zero token costs. It ships supporting Qwen 3.8 27B and PPLX 27B on Nvidia DGX Spark and Linux boxes with RTX GPUs (24GB+ VRAM), with Google Drive, Gmail and GitHub connectors and optional escalation to cloud frontier models. Windows lands in September; Apple silicon isn't on the roadmap yet.
