Just got shown an ad for an AI app whose selling point is you can “skip long prompts” because apparently now even writing a few sentences of coherent English is too taxing a demand.

Finally got around to skimming “The Serpent in the Grove” & the AI controversy seems to have overshadowed the more basic question: “How was twaddle like this awarded a prestigious literary prize?” It reads like a parody of literary fiction.
