Apropos increasing incidents of AI psychosis, I’ve been thinking a lot of a schema once suggested by the late novelist Robert Anton Wilson: The idea that human reasoning can usefully be thought of as a Thinker and a Prover.
Policy advocacy by the deed: if someone stood up a platform that specialized in generating photorealistic AI videos of Donald Trump getting the living shit beat out of him, it would break the Internet on day 1, and an AI regulatory bill would be on the floor of Congress day 2.
Just got shown an ad for an AI app whose selling point is you can “skip long prompts” because apparently now even writing a few sentences of coherent English is too taxing a demand.
Finally got around to skimming “The Serpent in the Grove” & the AI controversy seems to have overshadowed the more basic question: “How was twaddle like this awarded a prestigious literary prize?” It reads like a parody of literary fiction.
