Please, stop using the media and tech industry phrase, 'AI boom' (as in 'AI boom increases memory prices'). There is no 'boom' there is an economic and ideological total war being waged against us by a dying system that is producing material consequences. An imposition, not a boom.
Whenever a tech propagandist says 'AI' will kill us all (or, as Gates recently said, a billion people) they're lying as part of a profit gambit *but also* telling everyone that western elites are willing to wage nuclear war rather than relinquish a micron of power.
Instead of saying 'AI' did this or 'AI' wants that (not only anthropomorphic but a diversion) I suggest we always name companies, products, customers uses and infrastructure. What, precisely is Microsoft, Google, Amazon selling? Who is buying and why? What are the angles?
This week, there’s been a lot of chatter here (and doubtless elsewhere, ideas, and apparently social media trends, are hegemonic) about so-called ‘AI’ in education. Specifically: should students be taught ‘AI’ to be ready for.. well, there you have it; ready for what, exactly?
