80% of the articles published in AI & Society seem to be AI slop these days. I want to find the good articles but I hate wading through the slop.
My article on AI-generated podcasts already has three citations and at least one is AI-generated. Look at this fine example of an ultra-vague statement with a drive-by citation that doesn't match the claim. The entire article is 100% AI-generated according to Pangram.
I'm reading PhD applications again and the AI is even more pervasive than last year. Most are obviously unqualified, but some are heartbreaking: potentially have been good candidates but their proposals are such contorted insanities. They would have stood a much better chance without the AI.
Trying to update my ID for a bank but there's an issue, so I asked the chatbot about it & it bizarrely thought I was suicidal. It's great that chatbots designers try to help people who are struggling emotionally, but wow, my banking question was parsed as emotional distress. I wish they had humans.
Is there any way to filter out the endless AI slop from my email? They are getting worse and worse and I want to send each of these arseholes a million emails to swamp THEIR inboxes. Or just find a way to avoid ever having to see them.
