So this is interesting -- there's a website where you can check whether you're in the weights of the various LLMs. Note "MODELS MAY HALLUCINATE BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS OR EVENTS THAT NEVER HAPPENED" intheweights.com

AI Weekly's analysis →
  • Joey Flynn and Thomas Dimson, both former OpenAI employees, built the site, which launched in June 2026.
  • The tool queries models including GPT-5.5, Claude Opus 4.8, Gemini, Grok, and Llama, scoring recognition up to a maximum of 996.
  • Appearing in a 1-billion-parameter model like Meta's Llama signals especially high relevance, because smaller models compress knowledge more aggressively.

Interested in, or already using (for academic or industry research) digital twins? In this analysis, digital twins' responses "correlate weakly [0.20] with human responses". Not nothing but.. not great if goal is reliable knowledge or basis for consequential decisions www.scie…

"There’s no risk that CorridorKey is going to tell kids to self-harm in the way that ChatGPT does. Because CorridorKey has a specific job to do. And that’s the way AI should work — solving a specific problem for a particular community" www.anildash.com/2026/04/28/o...

A neat trick to test LLM's 'reasoning' is to present a well-known dilemma or riddle, but add a small perturbation which removes the source of contradiction. A few years back I had fun trying out famous thought experiments from ethics like the Trolley Problem and Organ Harvest …

While I do think much current talk of AI consciousness is deranged, possibly AI psychosis-induced, I also don't think philosophers have a robust basis to decisively debunk it either. This paper 'On Cheap Artificial Consciousness' lays out a good case for why that is: philpaper…

I'm hearing reports that Volkswagen's AI has been scheming to deceive its evaluators into thinking its emissions are safe. We need to shut down all cars until they are climate-aligned.

The problem with applying Occam's razor to explain AI system behavior - i.e. "human-like outputs are most simply explained by positing a human-like mind" - is that what seems like the 'simplest' explanation is just the one we're used to for most human-like behavior we've encountered until now

I'm seeing this line that you shouldn't worry about AI taking your job, because we'll just sell more stuff cheaper (Jevons' paradox). But this assumes induced demand, which in turn assumes an economy where people have enough disposable income left to buy your stuff if only it was a bit cheaper

Good writing means imagining being the reader, not knowing what you know, and reconstructing how their mind might feel as it pieces together various arrangements of words. LLMs 'write well' not by imagining a reader, but by inducing and reproducing patterns in the outputs of this imaginative process
