HiddenLayer, an Austin-based AI security startup, closed a $100 million Series B led by Delta-v Capital, with Ten Eleven Ventures, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft's M12 and Booz Allen Hamilton participating, TechCrunch reported. Co-founder and CEO Chris Sestito told TechCrunch that annual recurring revenue grew more than 10x over the past year into the "tens of millions," with over 90% of that growth coming from new customers.
Mistral updated its help center to make explicit that free-tier Vibe conversations feed model training unless users manually opt out in the admin panel; Vibe Enterprise, Mistral Studio and API traffic are opted out by default. Vibe and API toggles are independent — opting one out does not cover the other. The update surfaced on Hacker News, where developers noted the default conflicts with earlier documentation wording.
US District Judge Leonie Brinkema in Alexandria, Virginia rejected the Justice Department's bid to force Google to sell its AdX advertising exchange, ordering behavioral remedies instead, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. Brinkema "issued her decision under seal with a brief order"; a redacted version is expected later. The judge "accepted most of the parties' proposed behavioral remedies," reported to include interoperability requirements meant to let rival ad-tech systems plug into Google's stack.
At the G20 Innovation Ministerial in Chapel Hill, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick publicly told the audience 'we trust Anthropic,' saying the lab is 'back on the right side' with the Trump administration and 'they've done what we asked.' The reset comes weeks after Lutnick briefly imposed export controls on Fable 5 and Mythos 5, later lifted, and after a federal judge ruled the Pentagon's Anthropic blacklist unconstitutional. Anthropic co-founder Tom Brown was on stage at the same ministerial.
Conveo, which uses AI to conduct customer interviews in 15 languages and analyze transcripts for market insights, raised a $50M Series A led by DST Global, per Axios. The round positions Conveo in the growing consumer-insights automation space, where AI-native platforms are increasingly replacing traditional survey and interview vendors.
Loudoun County, Virginia hosts about 250 data centers, the densest concentration in the world, and the same tax windfall that helped build 22 new schools in the last 15 years is now colliding with the residents who live next door to them. In a Verge feature by Lauren Feiner, data-center revenue exceeded the county's operational budget by $35 million in 2024, property tax rates have fallen from about $1.29 to 80 cents per $100 of assessed value since 2008, and property values have climbed as much as 182 percent in the last decade.

Anthropic has put up a free browser checker at claude.com/check-content that reads a file, looks for the C2PA content credential Claude attaches during generation or editing, and reports what it finds. The tool runs entirely in the browser: "Your file stays on your device. The checker only reads the embedded credential, not the file itself." Uploads can be images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, TIFF, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, DNG, JXL), video (MP4, MOV, AVI) or audio (WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC), up to 100 MB.

Adobe said on Monday that more than 70 of its tools, including Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Stock, Lightroom, and Adobe Express, are now callable from inside Slack via an app called Adobe for Slack, TechCrunch reported. The mechanic is a Slackbot wired through MCP. A user describes what they want in a thread, and the bot routes the request to the right Adobe application, reading the surrounding conversation so it can convert thread material into PDFs, images, and video, or pull assets from previous campaigns into the chat for editing.
