i think it’s incredible how people claim that if you say “llms don’t think” you are a “physicalist” or, even worse, a secret dualist it’s a basic manipulative trick, you know extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and they don’t have any there’s NO evidence for llms being conscious
“what if the AI doesn’t want to be shut down so it kills all humans?” well, the funny thing is, llms don’t exist between prompts. there is no there there. the model is sent a request, it “starts up” to receive it, processes it, and then it “shuts down” again. every single time.
