SE Gyges: good morning jensen huang, ceo of nvidia, browbeat everyone in ai to sign a letter saying that open source and open research are generally good things everyone but anthropic has signed currently. o…
SE Gyges: imagine google reading the room and figuring out how to "yes, and" a letter of platitudes faster than you
SE Gyges: i don't even mean to insult the letter! the things it says are all true and clearly need to be said. sometimes you gotta say ten true and obvious things in a row on company letterhead but, it shoul…

Pwnallthethings: This is going to be a big deal, but easy to get the wrong end of the stick on it. So I think it's worth breaking down what actually happened, why, and what it actually means, based on the public in…
Pwnallthethings: Upfront tl;dr: a model at OAI hacked out of a constrained environment inside OAI and hacked a *different* company autonomously, without authorization from any human in order to creatively solve a t…

Tim Kellogg: what is Anthropic’s plan exactly? Sol kicks ass and they’re just going to *take Fable away???*
SE Gyges: i am pretty sure everything they had a plan for turned out not to happen and they're just sort of winging it atm

SE Gyges: the thing about LLMs training on LLM output messing them up isn't true btw. provided the LLM doing the output is good and it is reacting to diverse prompts, this is extremely delicious data
SE Gyges: we train them on their own outputs a lot right now! whether this is eliciting skills they already have or creates new ones is controversial. i am on the second team
