James Grimmelmann: TBH, I suspect student or RA work rather than AI. The 2000 cutoff doesn’t track; if anything AI is better at working with more recent work that is more pervasively online.
James Grimmelmann: If it's AI, a problem like that is more likely to be the result of dumb prompting than clever prompting to avoid detection.
